Downpatrick Racecourse- Covid 19 Code of Conduct.

Downpatrick Racecourse are delighted to welcome the public back. Before purchasing tickets please be aware that the raceday experience at Downpatrick will be very different to what we would have enjoyed pre-pandemic. Please be patient and work with us as we transition back to the racedays that we know and love.
Industry participants (working on racedays) will be operating simultaneously under HRI protocols. In order to keep industry separate from the public, zoning will be in place. Please be aware that this will mean that some areas will be out of bounds for the Public. The public will have access to Winning post, Grandstand, Parade Ring and seating areas.

All Attendees who enter Downpatrick Racecourse shall be deemed to have accepted and agree to comply with, this Code of Conduct.   Attendees are admitted to the Racecourse strictly subject to this Code of Conduct. There are no exceptions.

Ticket Bookings

  • All ticket must be purchased online in advance of the raceday, no tickets will be available to purchase on the race day itself. Tickets cannot be collected on the day and are non-transferable.
  • Bookings are only via our website.
  • To comply with the NHS Track and Trace process; all attendees must provide contact details for everyone within their party at the point of purchase.  This is mandatory and therefore tickets will be issued on submission of the full details required.  These are as follows:
    • Full name
    • Mobile number and email address
  • Should the meeting be cancelled a full refund will be available; otherwise no refunds will be made unless in the case of Covid related ill health.
  • Should the race meeting have to be rescheduled, tickets will automatically be moved to the new date
  • Children under 14 are free, do not book a ticket for them, once you have secured your ticket/s, you must contact the office if you wish to add a child as part of your group
  • Annual Badge holders MUST have a valid digitised ticket and completed all as outlined above before admission will be granted.

Do not attend if you:-

  • have any Covid-19 symptoms (fever, cough, loss or changed sense of smell)
  • received a positive Covid-19 test result in the 14 days prior to event
  • are required to self-isolate for travel or NHS contact and trace reasons

All patrons who book tickets or have tickets booked on their behalf must adhere to the following:

  • If you have any underlying medical conditions placing you in a vulnerable category please assess your own risk before deciding to attend.
  • Be aware that the contact information (names, addresses & phone numbers) required for each ticket purchased will be kept for up to 28 days to facilitate contact tracing only.
  • You must provide a valid photo Identification to match the name on your ticket on arrival before being admitted. No photo I.D. will result in no admittance.
  • If an arrival time is specified on your ticket, arrive at that time, and comply with the necessary check-in procedures.
  • Be aware that your temperature may be checked before entry. Please comply with any health checks that may be required on entering the racecourse.
  • Follow all signage and the instructions of staff, officials, or any emergency service personnel present at the racecourse.
  • Please observe social distancing at all times and in all parts of the racecourse.
  • Avoid contact with others who are not in your social bubble.
  • Please remain within your allocated area and refrain from entering any restricted areas of the racecourse.
  • Be aware that requirements for social distancing and reduced facilities may lead to increased queuing times for amenities.
  • Maintain good hygiene.  Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitiser dispensers provided.
  • Avoid touching your face whenever possible.
  • Face Coverings must be worn when moving around inside unless you are under 13 or are unable to wear them because of a physical or mental illness or disability (exemption certificate required). Face coverings are no longer mandatory when outdoors however we continue to encourage patrons to use them. 
  • Please observe respiratory etiquette - always cover your mouth if needing to cough or sneeze.
  • Alcohol may only be consumed when seated.
  • You are encouraged to use cashless payments for food and beverages. Bookmakers will accept cash bets and also contactless, winnings will be paid out in cash.
  • There will be no facility to withdraw cash at the racecourse.
  • Please ensure all those attending whom you have booked a ticket for have read and understood this Covid-19 Code of Conduct.
  • Failure to follow these rules may lead to a denial of entry, or expulsion from the racecourse.
